Jason Walker

Hi, I’m Jason Walker,
I’m a writer and moving expert with a lifelong connection to the world of relocations. Born in the charming city of Savannah, Georgia, my family’s first big move came when I was just 10 years old. My dad’s new job as an engineer took us to Chicago, Illinois. That move opened my eyes to the logistics of packing, transporting, and settling into a new home, sparking a curiosity that has stayed with me ever since.
By the time I was a teenager, we had relocated again—this time to Austin, Texas, where my mom pursued her dream of opening a family restaurant. These moves taught me how to adapt quickly to new surroundings and showed me how important it is to have the right resources when uprooting your life.
My sister, Megan, has been a huge inspiration for my work. As a busy mom of four and a professional photographer, she’s moved at least ten times over the past five years, often chasing new opportunities and creative inspiration. Watching her navigate everything from cross-country moves to finding reliable movers gave me a deeper understanding of the challenges people face during relocations.
Education and Career
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Logistics Management and Business Administration. My first job after college was at a transportation company in Houston, where I coordinated freight logistics. It was there that I realized how much people value clear, trustworthy information about moving services.
Later, I transitioned into marketing, working with small businesses – including moving companies – to help them build their brands and reach new customers. This blend of personal and professional experience inspired me to create content that makes relocating easier and less stressful for families and individuals.
Today, I live in Nashville, Tennessee, with my wife, our two sons, and our Labrador, Max. Whether I’m writing guides, reviewing moving companies, or offering tips on packing and planning, my goal is to help people turn their moves into smooth, stress-free experiences.
I know firsthand how challenging moving can be, but with the right advice and support, it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Let’s make your next move your best one yet!
